February is National Eating Disorder Awareness Month & next week is the official National Eating Disorder Awareness Week. A lot of people are incredibly ignorant to just how painful these disorders are and all of the awful things they cause people that have them to do. Imagine having to live in agony after each meal, or feel like you have to throw up what you’ve just eaten; never being able to enjoy food without guilt. That’s what it feels like to have an eating disorder. Not only that, but eating disorders can trigger many other mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety, and causes the people that have them to turn into different people completely. It literally controls them and tells them what to do.
Keep reblogging this to raise awareness of eating disorders! They ARE an important and ENORMOUS issue in our society, yet you rarely hear much about recovery.
